Evan Deuitch was born in Princeton, NJ, in 1991, and grew up in Williamsburg, Brooklyn through the 90s. His work centers on the use of the anthropomorphic “furry” animal as an erotic symbol and fetish, while exploring different forms of subcultural representation including zine-making, self-portraiture, illustration, collage, and documentary photography. He received an MFA from the Department of Transmedia at Syracuse University in 2017, and a BFA from Penn State University in 2013. Exhibitions include shows at téte in Berlin, Germany, at Lightwork in Syracuse, NY, and at Dossier Outpost in New York, NY. He currently lives and works in the Bronx, NY.
